Golf Injury Treatment · Dublin, Ohio

We treat the golf injury and the swing limitation behind it.

Helping your elbow, back, or shoulder stop hurting and perform at its best.

Where injuries start

Swing problems are often body problems in disguise.

Golfers spend years fighting the same swing fault: lifting the heel, losing posture, early extension. These faults usually have a physical cause. When your hips can’t rotate or your thoracic spine is stiff, your body finds another way to move. It compensates, and compensation under load and repetition is where golf injuries come from. A TPI screen reveals which limitations are driving which patterns. That’s where treatment starts.

How treatment works

Assessment first. Then a plan.

Treatment starts with a clinical assessment from Dr. Mathias, TPI Certified Medical Level 2, including a TPI-informed movement screen of how your body’s limitations interact with your swing. From there, your plan may include:

  • Chiropractic adjustments to restore joint motion
  • Dry needling for trigger points, tendon irritation, or nerve sensitivity
  • Functional rehabilitation to progressively rebuild tissue capacity
  • Golf-specific mobility and strength work to address the patterns behind the injury

We treat the injury and the body that produced it.

Questions, answered

What golfers ask before their first visit.

It depends on the injury and how long it’s been present. Acute issues like a muscle strain often respond within a few weeks of structured treatment. Tendon problems and chronic overuse injuries tend to take longer. You’ll get an honest timeline at your first visit.

Not necessarily. In many cases, you can continue playing with some modifications while treatment is ongoing. Dr. Mathias will give you clear guidance on what to modify and when it’s appropriate to return to full play.

Yes. Golfer’s elbow is a tendon overuse injury that responds well to conservative care, including dry needling, load management, and progressive strengthening. Dr. Mathias treats both the local tissue and the contributing factors from the wrist, shoulder, and neck.

A TPI screen is a physical movement assessment designed specifically for golfers. It evaluates your body’s mobility and strength against the physical demands of the golf swing, identifying the specific limitations affecting your game or contributing to pain. It’s a useful starting point for anyone with golf-related pain or swing issues that haven’t responded to technique work alone.

If you have pain, start here. Pain is often a sign that your body isn’t physically capable of executing the swing your coach is asking for. Fixing the body problem first makes swing coaching more effective and more lasting.

Location. Golfer’s elbow is pain on the inside of the elbow, tennis elbow on the outside. Both are tendon overload injuries, both show up in golfers, and both respond well to conservative care: load management, dry needling, and progressive strengthening.

Move better, feel better, perform better.

Whatever your goal, it starts here.
